What a remortgage quote asks
The property’s value, the current mortgage and the new loan, the current lender and the new one, and whether the property is leasehold or a buy-to-let. The figure is worked out on the spot; the addresses and the mortgage account details are asked once your client has accepted it.
What a transfer of equity quote asks
A transfer of equity is priced from what is changing:
- whether a name is being added to the mortgage, or removed from it
- whether money is changing hands, and how much
- the lender
Someone being added becomes a second applicant on the case, so their details are taken with your client’s when you instruct.
How it works

Questions
Common questions
- Why does the quote ask whether money is changing hands?
- Because it changes the price: a transfer fee applies only when money moves, so the quote asks for the amount.
- Can I quote a buy-to-let remortgage?
- Yes. Mark the remortgage as a buy-to-let; where your conveyancer acts for limited companies, you can quote one through a limited company too.
- What does my client receive?
- An itemised quote as a PDF, which you send them. When you instruct, your client, your conveyancer and you are each emailed the quote.
- How do I join?
- Register your business. We’ll be in touch to agree your tariff, and once your account is approved you can sign in and start quoting.
